Weekend Warriors #8

Wow, it’s been forever since I gave this any attention. What a slacker. But really I’ve been crazy busy writing. Not long now until I submit the second novel in the Dominion series. I can’t wait.

Anyway here’s my 8 sentence snippet. It’s from book two, my current WIP. Hope you enjoy.

Why did he have to look so beautiful, so raw, so perfectly male, standing there, pleading with her, offering himself to her? Why did he have to be everything she hadn’t even known she wanted? She hated him right then, hated every single inch of him. Hated him because of the pain strangling her. He’d wormed beneath her defences, dug into closed boxes, opened cells inside her soul that she’d kept locked for centuries. He’d cracked her open like a book and read the stories that she protected all her life.

She’d have been better off never meeting him. At least then she wouldn’t have known what could be between a male and female.

  1. Very nice anguish here! I love the “read the stories that she protected all her life” part. 🙂

Wow! Powerful snippet. Can’t wait to find out what’s happened/happening between the two of them.

Ooooh, I love this. I have a character that goes through something like this. It’s great the way you convey her emotions. Beautiful. 🙂

  4. She’s obviously carrying a lot of baggage
